Last night my Netflix account suggested watching Ally McBeal as my Saturday night activity in lieu of going out and meeting people (it’s been doing that a lot lately). It had been years since I last watched an episode and I could remember from the series was that annoying dancing baby.
Anyway, I decided to give the show another viewing to see if there was more to it than the aforementioned baby and the unisex bathroom. Future blog posts will go into greater detail about lessons learned (and whether the show was something a forerunner for other quirky female shows such as Sex and the City), but this particular scene in which Ally (Calista Flockhart) teaches Georgia (Courtney Thorne-Smith) how to drink the morning’s first cup of coffee merits a post of its very own.
Despite being a coffee lover myself, I’ve never drank my first cup in such a sexual way–my style is usually more reverential. Not saying I wouldn’t give it a shot but certainly not for a Starbucks latte, which is what both women are making love to.
